Study Plans

Study Plans

Learn with practice tests which:

  • Correlate to our Lit Crit Coach, LLC materials
  • Include study guides (like lesson plans already made)
  • Prepare for the current play, book, and poems on the UIL list

Students are given a LOGICAL PROGRESSION of what to study and when. We include a suggested timeline and specific sections from the Lit Crit Coach, LLC materials and this year’s UIL literary works to study, but, since all tests will be sent in one mailing, you certainly may adjust the timeline to your needs. All seven of the practice tests are in the same format as state UIL tests, but they concentrate on the concepts and literature students are instructed to study before taking the test.

Organized Study Plans Lead To Success

AS WITH UIL FORMAT, EACH TEST WILL INCLUDE:
PART 1: 30 QUESTIONS OVER CONCEPTS
PART 2: 20 QUESTIONS ON SPECIFIC TITLES FOR THE YEAR
PART 3: 15 QUESTIONS OVER LITERARY CRITICISM (OTHER WORKS)

So, for example, Test 1 will include:

Part 1 – 30 questions over the specific lists of drama terms students will be instructed to study from the Lit Crit Master, Second Edition – such as Drama History , Comedy, Stage Terms, etc.
Part 2 – 20 questions over current year’s drama
Part 3 – 15 questions over other dramatic works

Tests 1,2, and 3 will concentrate on the specific titles chosen for the current year. Tests 4,5,6 and 7 will concentrate on the topics listed in the left margin but will also include questions over the play, poetry, and novel (just like the state tests) in Part 2. This organized method of preparing for the Literary Criticism competitions should make your life easier and should help your students avoid the frustration of deciding what to study and taking random guesses.
